Gala Concert “Carmina Burana”

The Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra presents “Carmina Burana” Gala Concert at SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May 13th at 8 pm


SACRAMENTO, CA - The Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra (SCSO), the Sacramento Children’s Chorus (SCC, Natascha Bach, Conductor), three world-class soloists and a guest ballet dancer will perform Carl Orff’s riveting “Carmina Burana” at the beautiful SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May 13th at 8 pm. SCSO Conductor Donald Kendrick will also feature on the program Dvorák’s high-spirited and festive “Carnival Overture” along with the area première of Latvian composer Erik Esenvalds’ “Lakes Awake at Dawn”.

One of the most famous and recognizable selections from Carmina Burana is the opening movement, "O Fortuna." This powerful and dramatic choral-orchestral work has been featured in dozens of films and television shows, making it one of the most popular and widely recognized classical works of the 20th century. This SCSO 27th Season Finale is sure to sell out & music lovers won't want to miss this dramatic performance! Ticket holders can look forward to the following:
