On May 24th, 2022 the State Water Resources Control Board adopted Emergency Regulation 2022-0018, directing all water agencies to enact Stage 2 Water Shortage Contingency Plans on June 10th, 2022, in response to the ongoing drought.
As required by this regulation, and as authorized by West Sacramento’s Urban Water Management Plan, the City is declaring a Stage 2 Water Shortage while asking for up to 20% mandatory reduction of water use in the City. Customers are requested to take the following steps to reduce consumption which includes only watering three days per week.
Watering Days
Odd numbered addresses: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
Even numbered addresses: Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
- Exemptions for drip irrigation, container plants and new landscapes
- No watering between 10:00am and 7:00pm
- Fix leaks or faulty sprinklers within 7 days
- Sweep sidewalks and driveways instead of using a hose
- Restaurants should serve water only upon request
- Use a pool cover
